Amazing to see a '55 in this condition. Wonder how much the seller bought it for. |

| On Antiques Roadshow recently there was an excellent condition 1959 Strat with a 1959 Fender amp that if I recall right was valued at $50,000 for the two together, not $600,000. |

wow, $600k is a LOT of money -- even for a pristine mint, ludicrously rare custom-color '55 Strat. (where was this thing hiding for so many years, and why did someone go thru the trouble of ordering a custom color Strat but then not play it?)
I doubt they'll get $600k, but they might get close to half that figure. certainly much more than $50k (no offense August West, but comparing a '59 Strat and amp to this guitar is an apples-to-hen's-tooth comparison).
I wonder if noted Strat player and collector David Gilmour would be interested, and if so whether he'd have to set up another 'Floyd tour to pay for it? |

Not claiming to be a 55' Strat expert, just offering a point of reference.
Never heard of an "apples to hen's tooth" comparison before. I guess a hen's tooth is like an orange. |
