You guys have it all wrong, it's not a misuse of the the term.
It's the guys-owners name.

Vin Tage as in Vinny Tage.

See! it was a simple explanation & mistake....

I wonder if people are using vintage to mean "vintage sound" or "classic stomp pedal" rather than actually referring to the age of the pedal.
I guess if you consider it being an endorsement for Boss, as in "this is a Boss pedal and so you know it works everytime even after being hit by a Mack truck".
I wouldn't advertise it this way but I guess that's one way to see things.

Its funny .... but you know the old saying, a sucker is born every minute. And sometimes in eBay, price sometimes has nothing to do with it. Not saying that peeps 'paying over market' are suckers ... they just have reasons, usually very rational to them, but very unrational to a cheapie like me.

I did some experimenting myself on the matter. I once listed a pedal at a ridiculous price, and to my utter amazement it sold within one day at my buy it now price. It was an RV-3 at 179.00. most were going for about $125; yeah, I had the box and instructions too, and it was very clean. But still ... so I ended up asking the fella ... why he bought mine, and it turned out he was in the next province and he didn't 'trust' that he'd get one from farther away. Sounds rational to me! He got the pedal in like two days and was happier than a clam.
