I recently purchased an Eventide PitchFactor which arrived today. The problem is that the non-original power adaptor the seller provided has the standard Boss style 2.1mm jack instead of the chunky Eventide type... The Seller obviously didn't bother to test it before sending. This is very annoying as I don't have any adaptors that fit so I can't test the machine to see if it works... Ugh. I hope this doesn't turn into one of those protracted arguments where the seller refuses to admit responsibility. We'll have to see how he responds to my (polite but to the point) email...
That'll teach me to buy gear from non-authourised sellers |

Yeah he should definately sort something out for you - could be a genuine mistake though if he got it mixed up or something so fingers crossed;
If not then they don't actually cost huge amounts http://eventidestore.com/stac.html and you can buy one direct from eventide - try and negotiate a partial refund or something if he doesn't have the original one and get a new one :)
Thats quite a purchase you made there btw I really want to know what that sounds like once you get it fired up!! |

Fortunately, it looks like I won't need to use your advice re: buying a new PSU from Eventide (cheers for that anyway! ), the seller has already replied saying he'll send the original US adaptor... and he seems genuine.
The PitchFactor is by far the most over-the-top pedal purchase I have made thus far... I really hope it's worth it! I'll let you know what it's like when the power adaptor is sorted. If it's anywhere near as good as the propoganda and reviews suggest, I'll be happy. |

Nice one - glad to see the seller sorted that pretty quickly for you :)
That thing looks absolutely amazing; watched the Eventide demo video and it looks like quite a feat of engineering - I'd be pretty surprised if it didn't sound like the the most awesome effect ever manufactuered after watching that :)
So whats the verdict then? |

I'm still getting used to all the presets in the PitchFactor (there are all sorts of variables)... I love it thus far. The tone is really clear and it sounds like a quality piece of gear.
It can do pretty much any pitch effect I care to think of and then it does endless variations of each. I think my Electro-Harmonix POG2 provides an easier interface when generating those nice organ sounds you get with good octavers... but compared to the PitchFactor the POG2 almost feels like a one trick pony.
The real test will come when I introduce the PitchFactor to my band's set up which is largely MIDI/computer controlled (one of the reasons I bought the PitchFactor in the first place). |

If you are into any sort of pitch effects then You *need* a PitchFactor... Awesome pedal. easily the best piece of kit I've bought in the last couple of years (and possibly ever). It's expensive but worth it.
I'm considering buying a TimeFactor now as well... that will require quite a lot of saving first I was originally thinking of getting a TC Electronic ND-1 Nova Delay (I have a couple of Nova Pedals and they are quality) to replace my Boss DD-7... now I'm not sure which to get...

Eventide certainly is expensive, however, it is worth it. It really is quality stuff... I've found that because the PitchFactor is a multi-effect it's made a few of my pedals redundant. It does still however largely retain the tweakability that I love in seperate pedals...
I've been funding purchases with money I've made from selling off gear I don't use anymore. So, even though I am paying for it, it at least feels like I'm not
I've *almost* ammassed enough cash in my PayPal account to pay for the TimeFactor... but I'm still undecided...

Hey Ollie, I'm still having trouble deciding which Delay to get (TimeFactor or Nova Delay). Maybe you can help me! What considerations did you have in mind when thinking about upgrading from your DD-7? |
