When i bought my first BCB-6 a couple of months ago, after taking out the pedals to clean i found a six digit made in japan label in it, at that time i figured it most have come out of a pedal (not one of mine though..) but a couple of weeks ago i bought a second one and when it got home i once again found a six digit made in japan label in it. Are these bcb's labeled with a six digit made in japan label like the pedals do or is this just a coincidence? |

Yep, but did they have serial number just like the pedals do? |

| Yes, they did. The serial number decoder should work on these units too. The BCB-6 was replaced by the BCB-6G which would have been produced in Taiwan. At first glance, the two boards are almost identical. |

| IIRC, the BCB-6G also has a slightly different internal design, to allow stereo pedals to be used without the cables getting in the way of the enclosure.... |

Yes ... the sides of the bottom half have notches in them so your input and output cables don't have to be 90 degree ones, and second, the BCB6G more easily accommodates MIJ and MIT pedals where the power receptacle was moved higher up the back of the pedal; that strip on the original BCB6 sat too low in the case and interefered with MIT power cables. Finally the 6G is more a charcoal colour than the silver 6 and matches the BCB3 better. |
