I don't remember it always being microphonic.
I used to have a variable power-supply that could switch from 3-18 volts and from negative tip to positive. One day I noticed that instead of being on 9 volts the switch was on 12 (it was very hard to tell unless you actually moved the switch), and worse, my DD-20 needed to draw more current than the power-supply was giving.
I honestly have no idea how long I played the DD-20 like this. The delay worked (and still works) flawlessly, but it's become microphonic, as in I can tap it or touch it and the sound will come out of the amp. When I'm plugging into it or what not.
Again, the delays all work flawlessly, and all the controls, outs and what-nots.
Did this power-supply mix up possibly make my pedal microphonic? |

| Happened to my TU-2 one time... I'd tap on the metal case of the pedal with my fingernails and it'd tink all over the place coming out of my amp. It was really annoying and stopped when I switched power adapters. |

| Hmm. I'm using a one-spot with mine right now... Dang. That's unfortunate! |

My OD-20 is microphonic, just a little bit, but never had the problem with DD-20. DD-20 (and most digital pedals) dont like switched power supplies. I dont know if One Spot is a better one or not, but the ones Ive tried with DD-20 has made some really bad noise coming out of the amp. Oh, the one with BCB-60 did not make my DD-20 behave like a old synthesiser making white noise.

Microphonic as in "when I tap it, it makes a noise in the amp"? Might be the battery... I've seen faulty 9V batteries that do that. |
