I've never heard of it before but it sounds great....i remember andy summers demonstrating his rig on a programme on tv and he had a effect called backwards reverb and it sounded amazing, like there was a chorus effect going on at the same time...i think if you go on to you tube and put 'andy summers+gear' in the search box an excerpt from the programme comes up....but i clicked on the link you posted and read the reviews,if i'm not mistaken the first poster who was given the effect got it off a guy called sakamoto who is as far as i know a big time composer in japan and known internationally,i think he does a lot of work in movies(the soundtrack of merry christmas mr lawrence springs to mind) ...roland/boss probably give people like him lots of new stuff to try out...if your looking for this effect i think ebay in japan would probably be your best bet as i would imagine that they release the stuff there first and if it was only out for a while as the second poster suggested it could be hard to find....bossarea would be the man if there is any info going about this effect....

They are spoof reviews and there is no such thing. Somebody made a photoshopped image on one of the forums a while ago (maybe Harmony Central)and I am guessing they are just now writing spoof reviews. No such thing as a Boss Drone. I had the photoshop mock up as the desktop on my computer at work for awhile...

oops.... sucker punched with that topic......sounded like a great effect...maybe we should all put our heads together with our more technicial forumites and invent one...!! maybe jack,Dr Bob or stinkfoot might be interested....i bag the european distribution rights..........

the geeks that came up with the drone idea are probably the same ones dissin' the boss pedals on other reviews as 'cold' and 'lifeless' while plugging their crap guitars with el cheapo leads into their $ 3000 pedalboards and $100 pratice amps and wondering why they can't get jimi's or stevie rays sound out of their $500 fuzzface..........

Just to comment on the backwards reverb, or as it is more commonly known, reverse reverb. I love this effect, it was used heavily by My Bloody Valentine, they used the following rack effects for that: Yamaha SPX-90 (although I think most of the SPX series has it) and Alesis Midiverb II. I actually own both of the units, but prefer the Reverse Reverb of the Yamaha best. It'd be nice if someone put this in stompbox form.

Hi Dingus
I was watching a demo video, this evening, & I think that Fender's G-DEC amp has it, built in as one of the selectable effects.

My friend has one, I'll see if I can find it, in the selectable parameters list on his G-DEC amp.

The demo was on the "Gear Wire" web site.
And it did sound good......

Regards Dr. Bob

Perhaps a reverse reverb-ring modulation combo for the Drone?

Reminds me of the Flaming Lips 4-CD set where all 4 CDs were to be played simultaneously....

I used to have an art box with about 40 modulation effects in it, and reverse reverb was one of them, and it was by far the best effect on it.

I wonder if i could find that box again...
