I wonder if they would really sell that many reissues, though...?
These do fetch high prices, but is that because of the demand, or the rarity? Is the interest mainly among a few collectors, as opposed to all of the musician traffic in Guitar Center? Purist collectors will probably still want an original. And there's always the option of a volume pedal and some practice.
Now the DM-2 or DM-3 -- they reissue one of these, and they'll move 'em by the boatload, I'd bet... you see them for sale much more often, and they still generate auction prices just about as high as the SG-1s that occasionally surface.
