Hello 1st time poster here.
I picked up a used AW-2 on the cheap at a local mom & pop music store. I bought it because it was cheap and I was curious but my second thought was to use it for a Jerry Garcia / Mu-tron / envelop filter type sound.
When I got it home and played around with it, I have to say I wasnt able to get anything remotely near that sound.
After reading some reviews on harmony central, there are some people that are using it in that way but either they have no idea of what that sound should really sound like or Im missing the sweet spot on this pedal. Looking over some of the other posts on this board I probably should have picked up the TW-1 or the FT-2 and maybe Ill do that.
That said, is anyone using the AW-2 for the Jerry Garcia / Mu-tron / envelop filter effect? If so could you post your settings and where in the signal chain you placed the pedal?
Thx

| Personally I think the FT-2 is best for a Mu-tron/envelope filter type effect. It can easily do a Garcia type sound. TW-1 would work too. The AW-2 is more of a combination auto-wah/envelope filter. It has been a while since I have used mine, but from what I remember the envelope filter effect is not that distinct from the auto-wah. I don't know if you can even get just an envelope filter sound without the auto-wah with the AW-2. |

Personaly, I think you should consider a moogerfooger lowpass filter or a lovetone meatball for this kind of effect!! I'm REALLY in love with Boss pedals, but I really consider that their envelope-kind-of-thing don't work, and I really tried all of them... |

Thats what I am finding. I guess I can turn around and sell this puppy and pick up a FT-2, TW-1, Mu-Tron III+, moogerfooger, meatball etc. but I was trying to make it work with the AW-2

I found something that is about as close as I think I can get with this pedal.
I'm replying to my own post in case anyone else is looking to do the same.
Here is what I came up with:
Rate: 1 Depth: 1 Manual: 1 Sens: 3-4
Enjoy |
