I'd love to have a Boss PQ-4 but am looking for a half-rack form factor I can set on top of an amp cabinet.
Does anyone have any experience with either of these two units?
Para-EQs get expensive fast, especially multi-channels.

Summit Audio FEQ-50 $995

Presonus EQ3B $99

TIA

I love the easy layout of the controls for the presonus. I havent used a rack mount only the 7 band pedal types.

I guess the Boss PQ-50 and RPQ-10 half-rack parametric eq's were out of the question?

i've never really felt the need for equalizers in my guitar signal..i know a lot of players use them and i have experimented in the past but i find that unless your using a power amp that the amps eq is fine....when i was using my GE 7 for electric it was in a reverse 'V'..to push the mids for a boost ..but the soundman for a band i was with at the time was always moaning about the shift in sound FOH...i was also using a POD for a while but pre amping the amps pre amp and the extra eq on the POD affected the sound too much for my liking after a while....

Tks guys. I ordered the PreSonus today. Even if it isn't the BEST quality compared to the Summit & others like I usually buy, it should do. I couldn't justify something 10x the price.

On a side note, its just like when you guys bring a new pedal into play.. every new device you buy requires a minimum of 1 new cable to go with it. I'm about Monster'd the fug out!

Man you do not know what you missing, those EQ's will find all those hidden corners in your amp.
Try some and enjoy the differences. True you may not always need EQ, but than that goes for all the effects we have, do we really need them? They are just the icing on the sonical cake your are baking!!

I've never used Presonus' EQ, but I have an 8 channel compressor of theirs that just works like a tractor.
