Oh yeah SD-2 , I just got mine last night yahoo! It cost me a fortune cause it's very rare here in my country around 80 USD equivalent. Now I can get rid of my OD-2 on the pedal board. The crunch channel is beautiful with a Telecaster. Way lots more output rather than the OD-2. Makes me think if it could have been a benchmark for the boutiques, sounds tubelike. |

Hi DovoodooMiracleman
Congratulations on your new SD-2.
The SD-2 is highly regarded & coveted here on the forum. People seem to have varying preferences for one or the other modes. They don't come up all that often here in Oz either.
I hope your was in good condition.
Regards Dr. Bob |

While a great pedal I don't think it is underrated, at least not around here(let's keep it that way ). Great mention though! |

Yeah, maybe underrated is the wrong way to put it for this pedal, but it just doesn't get enough kudos in my book. Often seems to get overlooked. When it does get mentioned, it usually gets nice comments. I like my SD-2 alot! |

Most of you prefer different phasers, BOSS or not. I don't think the PH-3 is the best phaser out there by any means, but IMO no other BOSS compact has such an undeserved bad reputation.
Can you post settings you like and use? I think if people stuck to the "4 stage" setting it's probably most useful/real sounding ie most like a Small Stone/ MXR. Too many novelty options. I think you just have to buy it realising that a lot of features you won't use, such as the step phase.
Of the current crop, I quite like the MD-2. It's a great high-gain pedal. |

Hi DovoodooMiracleman
Your new SD-2 looks pretty good to me. I really hope you enjoy using it. Thanks for uploading the pics.
Mine never came with the box or manual.
In your test picture upload, in the other thread, is that your VOX amp on the stand? And which Fender is next to it?
Regards Dr. Bob

Some SD-2 love from a bassist. I dig it with my OC-2,...great synthy sawtooth sound,...gives me a little bit of volume boost with the OC-2 which I need to get that wet organ sound, and I use the crunch channel as a clean boost for the OC-2. It pulls utility duty because I prefer fuzz for my distortion purposes.
I want a PH-3 just for the step mode alone. |

I might be selling my Ph-3 soon, I'll give you a PM If I do
and I love my Md-2 for Muse songs, It's so warm, but you have to run it through the NS2 or your buggered. |

Oh no, Dr. Bob, the amps on the test picture are not mine...it is a shot from the studio where my band practices. The VOX is a modelling amp dunno the model though, and the Fender right next to it is a Fender STAGE 300, pretty decent solid state. Here's a link to the studio's video commercial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fgdcb3Nai3M. My amp at home is Peavey studio pro 112 transtube series...grown to love it as well.
Regards, DVM

Thanks Ollie.
Unfortunately I'm unemployed at the moment, so unless it's like 10 bucks shipped I don't think my wife would allow it. |
