Anyone can confirm new (from 2007) and Analog Man modded pedals got a 10k trimpot instead of R9 resistor, just to set level desired?
I think of doing it, but there's a big doubt:
Trim pots got 3 connections, resistors 2.
How to solder trim pot on the 2 holes on the PCB?

You need to connect the middle lug and one of the outer lugs, it doesn't matter which one. The only effect this selection will have is whether the impedance increases or decreases if you turn clockwise.

You should be able to adjust the volume drop either way.
