Hi Vicix
Go here on the Bossarea site. http://www.bossarea.com/serial/sndecoder.aspx
The serial number decoder says: The unit with serial number 093434 was produced August 1981.
For your Interest, my oldest one is April 1986, in near mint condition.

There is a few Taiwan pedals with 6 digit serial starting with 0. Most I've seen so far are DS-1s. This is the first HM-2 I've seen with this serial. Need to look through the arhive and see how it fits in.
Most likely these date from early 1989. Boss had just come to 99xxxx and was perhaps not ready to start with ZA00000 just yet and had to come up with an improvised solution. There is a bit of uncertainty about the serial numbers around the transition time and I'm not even sure if your E99xxxx was created before or after your 09xxxx.
Have you had a look at the component codes inside? Would be interesting to compare them. |

Hi... Dr. Bod, the foto for other numbered sticker on the side of the pedal is:

I have more 100 Boss pedals and is the unique one with two sticker. The simple is.: day 30 of 09 (september) 1987...???????
The back label is type 2 but made in Taiwan...is a new type????
Well,I have looked at the intestines of the three pedals:
 Inside the same numbers...2291085902
But... in the circuit the condensers are green, same a made in Japan. Other Taiwan n:E998284 February 1989 is color silver..
 Hummmm....Will continue? Thank,s to Bob,StratoSphere,Bossarea...is a good team, UK, Canada and Australia...Ufff. |

I've never seen the additional sticker either.
Did you have a closer look at any of the transistors. There's usually a 3 digit code printed on them in tiny letters. The code is number-letter-number (Year-Month-Week). A transistor with the code 8D2 would have been made 2nd week of April 1988 (assuming the unit was made in the 80s). |
