Have seen that there are trimpots in DC-2. Are they considered tweakable, and has anyone done this? Is it the same story with DC-2 as with DM-2, that if touched are almost impossible to restore to factory specs? |

| The 2 trimpots in the DC-2 adjust the bias current of each BBD. If you adjust these you will most likely change the BBDs from their optimum working point resulting in noise or no functionality at all. |

Yes, I figured that it would be harmful to the pedal. I havent touched mine, and never will. I guess adjusting the DC-2 trimpots arent that common compared to tweaking DM-2 och DM-3 pots, where you try and get longer delays.
With DC-2 perhaps you have nothing to gain, since it sounds so good anyway...
Would be interesting to know what the result was from someone who actually adjusted them on DC-2... |

Sunburst, those trimpots in DC-2 (and other Boss-pedals) are inside for one reason..... Be very, very careful when tweaking and my advice is to keep your fingers off.... I know its very hard for some of us to keep away but there are many examples of people twiddling to much (ask Boss freak for example...) |

Goran, I have only peeked inside my DC-2 and would never touch them. I am a firm believer of keeping my pedals in original condition with factory specs. My main interest with this thread is to get info on how such a pedal would sound if the pots had been tweaked, so it would be easy to spot such a unit on the market.
The bottomplate of my DC-2 was missing two screws when I got it and the seller has told me he at some point lent it out to a friend who makes effectpedals to get photographs of the interior. My DC-2 sounds really good, and are quiet, so Im assuming the pots wasnt tweaked on it.
Judging from the info here it seems like a faulty unit would be easy to recognise soundwise. |

I have had my DC-2 for about a week now and I really love it, in stereo its fantastic! So Sunburst, you and me have to keep our fingers on the outside of our units

| Very good advice. I definitely learned my lesson with trimpots, and have not tweaked any of them in any pedals ever since the PH2 incident. |
