Picked up most of the parts on the Bay. I can't get over how great this thing plays!! And it sounds amazing, think Steve Vai (if only I could play like Vai)
2001 RG470NP body 2000 RG570DX neck Ibanez Edge double locking tremolo DiMarzio Evo2 bridge pup Jackson high output single coil DiMarzio Breed neck pup The pups play nicely together
Pictures are tough to get, this thing is like a friggon' copper reflector
The actoin is crazy, I've never owned a guitar with such low action. Man, I am so pleased with the way it came out

Thanks guys, Ibanez only produced this color for two years so they're kinda rare. To find a body in dead mint condition is tough. I guess I just lucked out |

| Cool neck inlays -- like icicles or stock chart graphs. |

| Very nice. RG's are my favorite type of guitar. Was it cheaper to put the guitar together as random parts, compared to just buying a RG470 or RG570, not including the price of upgraded pickups? |

Hi Ken, i own three rg550ltd's and like them very much so it is nice to see an Ibby pup up here!
I wonder if buying the parts on ebay makes it a cheaper guitar as when you would have bought a complete RG550 or 570. That trem is that an Edge or an Lo-pro Edge?
You talk about the action beeing ridicolous low, i now all about that! my RG's all have a low action but one of them i set up last year has an action i have never seen before, i think that when everything falls into place exactly right these RG's are killer! i just love 'em |

Hey Mesjoggah, Yes RG's are way cool!! I can't get over the action
I installed an Edge in her, I had picked up a single locking speedloading FR licenced trem but after spending some time on Jemsite.com I decided to go with the upgrade
I got the pupsfrom GS but, every thing else from ebay body 50. neck 180.(that one kinda hurt but it is an amazing neck and I would pay that again in a second for this neck)
Edge trem 50. the guy listed it wrong, I love it when that happends pots, switch and wiring harness 30. total w/o the pups 310. I had gift cards for GS so I payed 50. out of pocket total for the pups (gotta love gift cards) all said and done 460. Could have payed less for a lower model but not with the upgraded trem, neck and pups so I think I made out well. \Half the fun was searching for the goodies ya know |

Hi TKO Ken & Guys
I forgot to mention. Some years back (maybe 4 or 5), we bought our #3 son an RG1550 (black), it was an end of model run-out, in Ibanez Australia time scales.
We managed to get a massive discount on it because of the run-out, as well as a massive up front CA$H discount, it came with the original case & all the case candy.
Like yours, it's an amazing (stock) guitar. He keeps it as a Closet Classic...
What is that coppery colour called by Ibanez?
Regards Dr. Bob |
