i have to say that i never got on with my EH-2. i know this pedal is spoken of rather highly on this forum but i didn't find it did anything more than add a little brittle high end at the more extreme settings. found it to be limited use on it's own and completly useless in band situation.
just how i found it. mayb i'm setting it wrong tho so if anyone has any 'golden' settings for this pedal please share them with us!!!! |

IS the EH-2 a buffer, or does it do things like the BBE Sonic Stomp and delay Treble Frequencies?

| does this amp work better to clean up muddy humbuckers or maybe EMG's that are dark and heavy? |

| It is like the BBE but more tweakable.. It is for shaping your tone the way you like.. For a few facts i heard about is.. It is about frequencies.. That high frequencies reach our ears faster than bass frequencies so this pedal makes both even.. It makes both frequency reach your ears at the same time.. Making more nicer and fresher tone.. It is used to bring back the lost signal due to multiple effect loops or pedals.. It is more noticeable when it is after the distortion chain or pedal.. It is a great pedal for musicians that are strict and sensitive about their tone.. Like me. |

I think it was Boss's take on a buffer pedal. Most of us use it at the end of our chain to restore lost tone but Boss Pocket Dictionaries show its placement at the start of a chain. If you have two...
And I will agree with controlfreak, almost useless in a live situation unless the band plays softly but it is a great studio pedal as is the LM-2. |

Just got one, placed it at the end of my recording chain. For this application it works well.

Actually, I use it all the time in a band situation to make certain riffs stand out or in the 'climax' of a solo when I need that little extra brightness to cut through (on top of my lead sound).
Of course on its own (only pedal between your guitar and amp) it doesn't do much of anything. You have to put it after your overdrive(s). It puzzles me why Boss suggests to put it at the beginning of the chain.
As for it being limited, I found a new setting just yesterday that actually 'rounds out' the somewhat harsh sound I got with my Tele on a lead pedal/amp setting. I'll try to remember to note down the settings tonight when i go to the rehearsal room. |
