The link below is to Robert Keeley talking about some DD-3 mods. I've already done the Hi-cut mod with great success but I'm not getting the second example which is using diodes to create "tape compression"

How do I run the diodes? Just on one end an DPDT or SPST switch?

I've been looking for that page for a while, thx.

For the mod, you'll need a dpdt on-off-on toggle, only cause its easier to work with, if you got the room where ever you mount it.
Put your favorite value cap for the hi-cut mod on one end, tape compression diodes on the other. Run the diodes just likes it shown, two diodes in series that are parallel to a matched pair with opposite orientation.
Or if your talking about adding a switch, a spst toggle will do, even a spdt on-on. This way you can have both hicut and tape-comp/distortion.

hmm,

the thing with your suggestion is that I can't have both on at the same time though right?

What I have now is a SPST switch with two different caps on there. I'd like to add another switch with the diodes so I can have both hi-cut + Plus the tape sim thing simultaneously.

I'm a little confused with h

Looking over the mod again, sounds like the hicut and tape sim mods do sorta the same thing, so you can't have both at once (or maybe???)
Try adding some diodes to one of your caps in series

Think you may have a spdt toggle, with the two caps. Either its on-off-on or on-on, how many ways does it toggle?
A spst switch is on-off and has only two terminals to solder to.
