Well the CH-1 is an analog chorus (a great starter chorus IMHO) and isn't as powerful a chorus as the CE-5. But that can be a good thing in the sense that too much chorus can "muddy up" your sound. The CE-5 is a digital chorus and is more powerful than the CH-1. you can get everything from subtle chorus to a seasick vibrato like chorus. it also has the low and high filters which can be very useful in how you shape the sound of the CE-5. If I had to pick one without ever having used chorus before, I'd probably pick the CE-5 for the features. But IMHO I think the CH-1 has the good old analog sound.

I had a CH-1 for a long time. I agree it is more subtle but I also think it has the least character of all the boss choruses. Nothing interesting about its sound to me. I would go with a CE-2 if you don't need the stereo outs.

I used it more for sound enhancement than a chorus. I got rid of it after i bought my CE-3.I wonder if theres a way to tweak it so it sounds better than stock.

The wide range of sounds make it worth the money. Good choice Plush Pile.

OMG! Just the starting bid was too high, but over $1000 for a chorus is just insane. Kind of like this. ---->

Well top class except for a Paul Reed Smith. Those go for $2000 and up. But the guy probably has one or two of those already if he has over $1000 for a chorus pedal. but hey, to each his own.

The Way Huge pedals are usually quite pricey these days, but that's the highest I've seen one go for. The funny thing is that they are all (to the best of my knowledge) modified clones of vintage pedals. The Blue Hippo Chorus is apparently based on a modded CE2 or CE3.

There's one called the Swollen Pickle (fuzz) that I saw go for around $700 US a few months ago. This one is supposedly a modified Big Muff.

It seems crazy, but there's such a (way) huge demand for these pedals from collectors (including producers, engineers and artists) that I wouldn't be surprised if the next time a Blue Hippo goes up on eBay that it goes even higher.

I just figure that they should save some money and Try to find a CE-2, CE-3 or all these other vintage effects instead of paying that much for one pedal. They could have gotten more for their money if they just went on a vintage pedal binge, and the purged the ones they didn't want or liked. Just a thought.

Well, that's true, butWay Huge pedals have an almost cult-like following. If you go to the Way Huge website and click on "users" or "artists" or whatever it's called, you'll see why. Personally, I'd love to have a few of them, but I can't afford it until after I finish my Boss collection!

Same here. But I have to start spending money on drum equipment for the time being and finish up what I need for my kit. But if there's a boss pedal I don't have yet that's also going to be bought.
