Hi again! I have a question about the books/manuals that follows the pedal. Or more about the loss of it, cause for example at this nice page there are text added under the picture of the pedal that comes right from the manual, ex "for a ligt crunch sound" aso - set level at 2 aso aso. So my question is basicly, what is the scale explained? Is it like a clock or what? Hope you understand my qustion, a little hard to explain shortly with my poor english. |

It can be 2 ways, it's either on a scale from 0 to 10, 0 being fully counterclockwise or "min" and 10 being fully counterclockwise or "max".
The other description involves the term "o'clock", so when it says knob on 12 o'clock it means straight up, or on 5. When it says 9 o'clock it means the marker on the knob points toward the left or the 9 o'clock position of a real clock.
I hope this clears things up a bit. |

| I thought it was so, but that was also my question, what is it, clock or 0-10? Someone who know? To Dirk, thanks anyway. |

| I've always assumed that numbers referred to a 0-10 scale unless the description specifically said "o'clock." Of course, we all know what happens when we assume . . . |

Some people reference o'clock because the knobs on pedals don't have numbers/dots to show what is where, except for half way Pots have 270 degree rotation, startin at 7 o'clock for zero 9:00 is level 2, 3:00 is 8 |

Hi Shoegazers Anonymous & Guys
I believe, that this has been a point of confusion for a lot of people.
Point in question-topic, just look at the differing replies in the few postings, that are here.
Regards Bob.
PS. when I quote settings it's always in o'clock designation. |

I'll make an ass out of u and me and say the same!
But I guess it is just a simple two step processes of elimination. |

Since Nigel Tufnel declared that his Marshall went to 11, I've always assumed the scale is 0-10 (or 11)
The Boss manuals display the settings using a picture that shows the setting on the pedal. I can't recall having seen only a text reference to a setting. On the bossarea.com pages where settings are mentioned, the scale is 0-10. An example is http://www.bossarea.com/loadpage.asp?file=boxes/ce5.xml where I used the settings recommended in guide book #14 and wrote a textual representation of the figures in the book. |

Ok, now I got it. I dont have all the books to my pedals and sometimes its fun to test what Boss say is an optional setting or so, but thanks to you BossArea in many times I still can read what was said in the original book, and now, again thanks to you, I can even understand it. Im greatful. P.s the scale is to 11!
