I'd like another opinion. I have a DD-3 here, Japanese blue label, first version. Should I sell it or not? How much?

well apparantly the first DD-3s are the exact same pedal as the DD-2. (except for physical appearance of course)

you should get around 90-110 USD for it, give or take.

Ive been looking for a DD-3, but someone told me there were 2 (or 3?)different kinds.

One of them was a lot better than the other. Is the early one the better one, or was after they changed it, and how can you tell the difference?

It has been changed at least twice. The first version had the wide chip. This version is easiest to recognize by looking for the old big adapter socket. The change to the newer square chip happened 1991 and most likely the adapter socket changed at the same time.
The next change was the introduction of surface nounted components. I'm not sure whether the chip is the same or not and when this happened.

Also check out stinkfoot's pages as he's got some good DD-3 info there.

Mine DD-3 is the first version. Big adapter socket and separated mode selector. Yes, is the same as DD-2 but a real DD-2 is hard to find and valuable, true?

Metallium, yes youre right. While they are the same pedal, the DD-2 will sell for more because it is harder to find than a DD-3

so is the DD-2 (or the first DD-3) the best sounding delay?

Im going to be buying it soon, but i dont know which one to get. (even out of DD-2/3/5/6)

anyone recomend one?
My style is extreamly saturated distortion, so i want something to go with my heavy and dark sound

between the DD-2 and DD-3 i would recomend the DD-2 since its more collectable and they both sound the same. The DD-5 and DD-6 sound simialar to the DD-2 and DD-3 but they have more extra features. i guess it just boils down to if you want just delay, or delay with a bunch of features.

just keep it around unless you really need the money. i have the biggest problem with selling pedals. i will only sell if i have doubles.
