I'm with you on the ODB-3 -- its 'overdrive' isn't very useful, although it's still in my bass pedal board. forum member 'boss freak' suggested the following link to me a while back:

http://indyguitarist.com/mods.htm

at the time, they listed DIY instructions ($5) to make the ODB-3 a "much
smoother, tighter, more focused overdrive"; however, I can't find that anymore. you might e-mail them for more info.

what I'd really like to do is add a blend pot to the FZ-2, to allow a wet/dry mix; its fuzz 1 setting is my favorite bass distortion unit, but it really rolls off the low end. such a mod is not an option for me right now. you might also combine your ODB-3 with an eq pedal (graphic or parametric) to try to create one dedicated/eq'd overdrive sound; I've had decent luck with that approach....

i had this pedal for a few months before i got rid of it. the fuzz & clean tones just didn't seem to blend well. i switched to fulltone's bassdrive2 & have been much happier.

the odb-3 allowed for cool feedback though. i wonder if it sounds better with guitar.
