| I don't mean to commit blasphemy here, but does anyone know of a (U.S.) source for replacement battery door/covers for DOD pedals? (alas, my "butt"/"face" FX69 Grunge is missing its cover.) I could have sworn I had seen a website selling them for $3 each, but for the life of me I can't remember where. any leads/tips will be appreciated. thanks! |

Yeah, I've thought about buying the whole pedal to get the battery door, but it kinda defeats the purpose |

since posting my original query, I contacted DOD (in Utah), but they no longer sell replacement battery doors for their FX series pedals (or the older Performer series, or the Digitech PDS series of twin pedals). I've seen individual DOD battery doors on eBay for $5-$10 each, but very few lately.
on second thought... Laurie, is there a DOD/Digitech/Harman contact website or distributor for Canada? if so, it would be worth asking them, since they might maintain a separate parts inventory. |

Called them today and left a voice-mail with the parts counter. Haven't heard back... |

I started out with Dod/Digitech stuff in the early 80's.. the doors off the battery was always getting lost on gigs,so i ended up with bits of gaffa/insulating tape over them to hold the battery in..... i'm sure i wasn't the only one..i would be very suprised if some supplier/agent didn't still have a big bag of these on a shelf somewhere..what really is surprising is someone is charging $3 each for them.... ......not as quiet as boss pedals but not too bad either,i have fond memories of the FX65 stereo chorus, the overdrive plus and the Digitech 2002 delay...... |

| Unless you absolutely need a DOD cover for re-sale or perhaps a collection, the best replacement covers I have found is gaffers tape.... |

I often sacrifice purity for functionality, simplicity, durability, and/or affordability. |

You all have just inspired me to start planning for one of my future careers when I'm too old and decrepit to log anymore.
I am going to begin fabricating boutique battery compartment covers! Perhaps I will offer them in different versions... from sheet metal to copper to stainless. Thank you all for the inspiration. |
