Hi folks, I'm new to the site, glad you're here.

Just wondering if I put rechargable batteries into my tu-2 and my RC -2 or my blues driver... will they recharge when I have them plugged into a power supply?

Any hints on the RC - 2 or do I just need to spend tons of time with it and read the manual a lot...??

Thanks for your help!!

Never thought about it. I use all my pedal with power supply, none on battery.

Good question. But I don't think it's possible. I don't remember how is the process to charge batteries but it isn't very simple. I have experience with large batteries used in solar energy systems. The charger has about three stages of charging: bulk, float and other one which I don't remember. So, it's is not simple.

I think Dr. Bob or Bossarea will post something to make us the things clearer.

Hi Guys

The rechargeable battery cannot be charged, while it's in the pedal,
and while the PSA is connected.

The DC input socket, for the PSA, has a switch in it, that disconnects the Battery, when the PSA is plugged in.

There is also an isolation & protection diode in the circuit.

Most rechargeable 9V batteries, measure about 8.2v when fully charged & under a small load.

The pedal will work, but it's like having a slightly FLAT Battery in your pedal.
Also, rechargeable batteries have a Higher "Self Discharge Rate".

A lot of them will go flat, while just sitting on a shelf, & with nothing connected to them.

I can see that one, would work well in pedals that have Low Current consumption, like the DS-1

Theory - Theory & More Theory
I think I wrote that in a posting yesterday as well, or is it Deja-Vu?

Hope this helps you guys?

Regards Dr. Bob

Some pedals with a high current draw like the delays only go for about 15 minutes with a regular battery. With a rechargeable you might only get a few repeats out of it.

You're right Big Boss Man.
Plug packs - wall warts,
or whatever you want to call them, are the most economical & only way to go, in many peoples opinions.
