Just starting a thread for people to post the best deals they ever got on some rare pedals, or maybe just talk about "the one that got away".

For me it was a new old stock DC-2 Dimension C that i bought from some guy for 135$. Pretty sweet price considering one just went to 111$ and was beat to shit and missing a button!

I think I was lucky twice. About 1,5 year ago I found an OD-1 on a street fair for 8,- And some months later I bought a 30,- PN-2 at a pawn shop (mint, incl. box, manual). Not bad, eh
Actually, finding the PN-2 got me interested in Boss stuff. So be careful with good deals, I found them to be higly addictive

I got an original OC-2 Octaver (with the R at the end) in mint condition with box and manual for $40. That was on ebay too which kind of suprised me.

I gota mint Digitech Whammy II for $70.00 at a pawnshop. It was "squirrelly". So i took the bottom panel off and moved the RED LED sensor a little closer to the reader that was attached to the pedal. BINGO. WORKED PERFECT after that.

I got a VINTAGE DOD280Compressor for free when a music shop was moving, I got another dead pedal with it, but can't for the life of me remember what it was. The compressor was actually pretty darned good.

I got a JV Stratocaster from a pawnshop in Superior Wisconsin for $150.00.

Hmmm.

Cheapest BOSS pedal I ever got was a DD-3 with Box and Instructions for 39.95. I asked them to throw in the tax they did. As I was leaving the store, A girl from the back hollered, hey wait .... this also comes with that, and she handed me a brand new PSA120 Adapter. That was a steal!

I got a bunch of stuff "cheap" but those are about the bestdeals I can think of for now.

This will be a fun thread!

ok, this is a true story...
when i moved in to the house where im living in now, there was a box on top of a cupboard and in that box were four mij pedals...a dm 2, a dc 2, a rv 2 and a ge 7. I had been collecting boss pedals for about 2 years so when i opened this little box i almost had a heart attack.
I was and still am only a casual collector, but at that time i didnt even know what a dc 2 was(the dc 2 is amazing in stereo). these pedals are all unmodified and fully functioning.

That is the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard! Well i think the only fair thing to do would be to give me the DM-2 for free since I started the thread! No but seriously that is sweet, I think that'll be hard to beat!

I guess my best deal was the MIT DS-1 I picked up a while ago for 7 ($11). There's a also been a few that didn't particularly look like good deals at the time but has since become bargains as the prices has kept going up. DC-3 ($40) DM-2 ($60) and DC-2 ($90) are some of the best ones.

regarding the dm2
the one i have is a late one, it has the lower voltage chip thingy in it, although still mij.
again, it is unmodified (the green goo is still in place on the internal pots.)
it oscillates beautifully and i thought it sounded fine.
thats until i bought, on impulse, this thing called a 'freedom' e20dl.
it only cost 80 bucks new and its an analog delay. when i got it home, i couldnt find it on the net. however, i did find exactly the same pedal with a different label..called 'daphon'..still e20dl.
its a metal case chinese thing that weighs about a kilo.
anyway, uh..i like boss pedals a lot but the dm2 has been replaced on the board.
the e20dl sounds amazing..much more alive..vibrant, yet still decays perfectly and out oscillates anything ive ever heard.
if you guys are tempted at all to buy one of these things..beware..i had to replace mine twice. the first issue is squeal when the delay knob is turned (the first two both did this) and the second issue is dodgy switches. anyway, the one i have now is amazing.

SD1 and CS3 for $ 55, the compressor came in box with instructions, and both were like new.
They are Taiwan models.
oooold MIJ DD3 for $ 60

(of course they are nowhere close to a "rare" pedal)

I don't know if these are really good deals or so... I just found they had a fair price..

Recently picked up an EH-2 for $34.99 BIN and a PW-2 for $41, which considering that 4 or 5 around that time all went for over $70, was a deal, although one sold recently for $54.

I know these don't qualify as rare, but thought they were pretty good deals for both like new.
