I've just been reading the analog vs digital CH-1 thread (fascinating stuff!), and I got to wondering about my own pedal. I bought it 2nd hand, and the label is gone from the back. I did check out the PCB board, though, and it reads:

2292755600 1/2

If I read the previous thread correctly, that means I have an analog pedal. Any thoughts? Thanks!

If you've opened it up & seen the PCB, it's real easy to tell from that. The analog will have (among others) 2 8-pin IC's, one marked MN3101 & the other MN3007. The digital version has a large 28 pin IC labelled ES56028S. The digital one will have mostly surface mount components on the PCB, as well.

If a pedal has the S/N sticker, you can determine analog vs. digital by the serial number.

With the CH-1, S/N after AP11700 are digital.
With the CE-5, S/M after KP16600 are digital.

Using the S/N decoder, http://www.bossarea.com/serial/sndecoder.aspx any unit made after October 2001 is digital. If the pedal comes up as October 2001, then you have to look at the unit number part of the S/N. An explanantion of all that is here:

Hope that helps.

Grace and peace,

Steve

Phostenix...thank you for the assist my friend. I cracked it open, and sure enough, there are the two 8 pin IC's, MN3101, and MN3007, so it IS an analog. Big surprise to me, since, before finding this forum two days ago, I thought all the CH-1's were digital. I happen to really like the CH-1, BTW. It really adds space to my strat through my Blues Jr, and can be tuned in very subtly. Yeah, the chorus on my JC-55 sounds better, but the CH-1 definitely holds its own.
