I got an Envelope Filter kit with a switchable fixed wah setting that sounds a bit like a Boss Spectrum that I need to put together, and need to put together a MXR Distortion + clone and DOD 250 clone once I get the kits, plus another variation of a Big Muff Clone....so they're not pedals yet, but will be soon hopefully...

Despite just doing a post about it, My Ibanez cs-505 turned up today

Also interested in the pedal kits, expensive at all? I've got experience with signal processing circuits from making laboratory equipment so it's about time I made something more fun

Ssshhhhhh Don't tell anyone.

I guess I might as well disclose that I am not only a user, buyer, builder, and supporter of BYOC, but I am one of the moderators for their forum too.

Couldnt resist a Digitech Screamin Blues for around US $40.
As Digitech Bad Monkey is a big favourite of mine I expected the Blues pedal to be around the same, but there is a lot of differences to them. Screamin Blues is much more transparent, much more dynamic (touch rensposive), more treblier and dont have as much volume/drive as the Monkey. I would say that there is a lot in common with Boss BD-2 when comparing to Screamin Blues, but the Digitech is more touch sensitive.
I all a very good pedal but Bad Monkey is still better for my needs.

Hi Goran & Guys

Congrats, on the Digitech Screamin Blues pedal.

I had one here for a while, it belongs to a friend, I used to play in his band for a while.
Whiles it's a good pedal, i found it to have too much of a crunchy sound
it was a bit too harsh for me, on my old fender valve amp.
But it sounds different on his amp, it's a Solid State amp, & it seems to rock on that amp.

I don't have a BD-2 YET, does the BD-2 get too Crunchy as well?
I have a COSM model of the BD-2 in my GT-3 multi, & that sounds pretty good.

Regards Dr. Bob

Hi Dr Bob,

Im not sure I understand what you mean by crunchy, to me thats a good thing (the sweet spot of a tube amp, just before break up).
If youre talking about biting treble I know what you mean, thats a part of both BD-2 and Screamin Blues. It has to be tamed with the tone control way down to its starting point (in my opinion). The modded BD-2s Ive tried all have taking care of this issue.
Both of the above pedals are best used with the drive pre 12 oclock, for more distortion there are better Boss ODs.

I just bought the new electro-harmonix octave multiplexer from the XO line, I've been after an octaver for quite a while and I hope this will give me the sound I want. Does anyone else have one of these, or perhaps the original or reissue?

Traded a Boss BD-2 (yes I know its a sin) for a new Digitech Eric Clapton Crossroads pedal. I hade two BD-2s..
Guess Ill have it in my mail box on monday.

Also traded a guitar related book for Digitech Grunge this week, well, not my bag but its a pedal
Im becoming a Digitech collector too, it looks like....

NOOOoo... Well, at least you still have a BD-2 so you should only be struck down on the left-side of your body.. or is it the right side? I never can remember.

Well. The Crossroads pedal was fun to play around with but in a band situation I think it is useless. You have to tweak every setting and to my ears some sounds are not so good (to put it mildly), but some are quite good, like Badge.
I think the whole idea of this pedal is very strange, who needs this except hard-core Clapton fans?
You need to carefully select both amp and guitar to get the best results, but this is a very expensive pedal new.
For me, this is not a keeper.

The DOD Grunge on the other hand was a nice surprise, lots of noise (in the good way) in this pedal. Something like a Big Muff on stereoides, or Boss ML-2. Very good EQ!

Hi Goran
My friend & best man
came to the same conclusion as you have, about the Crossroads pedal.
And now doesn't use it.... & it's even more expensive here in Oz.

Ive sold off a couple of bad pedals and for the money I bought a Australian fuzz pedal, MI Neo Fuzz.
This is a fuzz in a very small box, it has 6 pots (4 is really mini) and an internal trim pot. Great build quality, very, very beautiful (and Dr Bob, still dont have a digital camera ) done.
The sound of it is just like a good fuzz should, nasty when cranked and beautiful overdrive at lower settings. Very touch responsive and dynamic. This is a keeper for sure!

Just put in my order for a Lovepedal "200lbs of Tone" pedal. Here is how it is described on the website...

This unit is by all means a classic silicon fuzz BUT it provides that elusive 200lb violin tone commonly associated with Eric Johnson's fuzz tone.
