We all have our reasons for collecting Boss pedals, but what are they exactly? Normally one collects pedals for their sound(s), but what about other factors of collecting, like certain hues of colour of the pedal cases, types of D/C jacks, pedal name, label colour, etc.?
Id like to have all Boss pedals with concentric knobs. There you have it. I said it...
Cheers!

like someone mentioned a while ago, theyre kinda like Strats. they all look the same and have history. some are common, some uncommon and some rare.
the colors are nice too. |

i'm getting very fond of the old style boss pedals ie... 2 or 3 knobs don't know why....? thinking of changing my cs3 for a cs2..and adding a ce2 to my board to cascade into the ch1....maybe its a subliminal thing.... all this vintage vs modern..analog vs digital.. starts to get to you after a while....[:G

| What first drew me towards Boss pedals was their shape and solidity. It looks like an engineering masterpiece and seing how the design has been cloned and copied over the years, I guess it is. |

Quite honestly, it started for me only because I work in a music store and get them for cheap, but now it's a full-fledged tonal addiction. And yes, the colours are very pretty. |

I so wish the vintage pedals were fitted with a LEVEL control. The ability to dial in a CE-2 rather than just switch it on, would be killer. Same for the PH-1 PH-1r ...
In fact, I know there are a number of forumites who have the wherewithall to do that. *** There is an internet business *** here for I think Pawnshoptrash, Phostenix, Stalhart, Bossarea (sorry for spelling guys, just doing this out of my head)

for reference I did collect and at one time have all the Dano, and Dano-mini pedals.
So there you have it someone did do that, and now you've heard of it.
But i just did that because they were so cheap and I wanted to understand what each different type of effect sounded like before I blew big money on one of them. Some of the Boss list & retail prices are ridiculous and for someone who was just starting out in the electric guitar world, a DS-1 was my only option at the time, and I hate that MIT piece of garbage. Luckily I didn't give up on Boss then. :) |

I bought a Dano Bacon & Eggs that was supposedly broken (and wasn't). I thought it was a pedal, but it's a mini amp. Much more versatile than my little Smokie amp. I keep it at work for kicks.
Grace and peace,
Steve

Heh Steve, you have one of those little Smokey Amps? I had a pupil who had one, thought it was kind of fun Limited in its use but still fun!!
Like what some others have mentioned before I started with the Boss pedals because they are reliable and made quite well, also felt like it was easier to stay with one brand for powersupplyreasons.
First there were all the current models, and then I came across the first issue pedals. Really do like those with their blinking leds.
And yes it is so true, within time you change your focus and start to see other things.
I have to admit, at this moement int time I have not plugged into a pedal for perhaps more than a month now [whereas before I played through pedals every day!!], busy doing other things, not looked at Ebay for a while, but this does not mean I have lost interest in the Boss pedals. |
