Ok Dr Bob, you've got an e-mail
Hi Mansun Thanks for fixing that issue.
Apologies if my post offended you. It's not always pleasant work being a Moderator, & it was well past 2:30 am here when I posted.
Please remember, even though you & other members, might not ever see it; But we have had issues with spam & spammers. And not too long ago, before you were a member, we had a nasty Hacker/s attack - locking us all out of the forum.
We have to be forever vigilant of these type of issues. Unfortunately, as in your case, it sometimes means we accidentally step on some nice peoples toes.
I guess it would be prudent advice, for everyone to check their links before posting them.
As you stated in your PM - I guess it would have been better if I dealt with this matter, in a private email to you. So as above accept my apology.
And a lets hope that this has not soured your opinion of the forum, You did mention that you were a long time reader.
Regards Dr. Bob.
Hell, no, no offence taken mate! I'm quite pleased being here, there's a lot of knowledge (I hope you'll share with me as I'm starting out in pedals), nice people and all that. In the PM I sent you I said I didn't mean to sound angry or anything because I don't speak english (well, I can put the words together but I'm never sure about how amicable my tone is at times) and now I understand why you posted that, didn't know about the hackers stuff and I disabled the PMs to be sent to me (they're enabled now).
So please, keep up the good moderating work and let's see your pedalboards! I want to make one myself and this thread is being quite useful.

Lovely setup! And quite complete with just four pedals! I don't know what's your style of music, but why don't you use a tube screamer? I thought it was always useful, I found it difficult at first (until I bought the Ibanez TS9DX) to hear myself with my band playing noisy around me. |

Welcome to the forum Mansun!
No need to worry - but your English is excellent anyway.
I'm more of a collector than a player, but I'm also planning to build some kind of modular board..
Silvertone- I'm chiming in a little late, but your blonde board is VERY nice.. I would love to see something like that on a large scale. |

Thank you Verivorax!
I understand how someone can be a pedal collector hehe... Some of them are so beautiful that I'd like to buy them all (specially those from Boss) but I'll be happy if I can find a good deal with a DD-6 and maybe a CE-5 and a TU-2 (or a Korg Chromatic Tuner).
Anyway I hope I soon will be able to post my "pedalboard" (quotation marks 'cos right now I simply lay them on the floor) and hear your suggestions! |

It's normally there... it's off the board right now because I'm seeing if I really like the Boss phaser sound "raw". It just doesn't seem to have enough "shimmer", or, more technically, the phasing seems to be more pronounced in the mids and I'd like more pronounced highs. Actually, writing this, I've started wondering how adding a GE-7 with it to push the envelope around might work... Thanks for making me think about this stuff a little more
Anyway, I've been waiting for an EH Small Stone to come up locally - the Deluxe Electric Mistress is much better than the Boss flangers, so I want to try the phaser equivalent.
UPDATE: Thanks LeroyFunk for prompting a bit more work
This is the updated layout and it is a fair bit better with the GE-7 after the PH-1R. Still want to try the Small Stone when one comes up.

verivorax, Check the link for some pics of larger designs: http://tomsguitarservice.net/SB%20Boards.html
Mansun, A Tube Screamer is fine, but I prefer this BD-2(it's a Keeley-modded unit). I need more bottom end definition than you can get on a stock BD-2 or Tube Screamer. For the record I'm not a heavy OD/Dist user. I use a 15 watt Victoria amplifier which gives me a heavy dose of "brown sound". So an outboard OD is simply not necessary most of the time.
And to all, I promise I'll pop off the bottom and shoot a couple of photos for you. In the meantime I'm thinking there are some "under the hood" shots on the website linked above. |

Hi silvertone6120
I noticed that they replace the bottom screws with obviously longer ones.
So my Question is: What happens to the original screw, do they give them back to you in a ziplock bag for future re-use? Or maybe they put them into the under pedal area, so they are easy to locate for future use?
Regards Dr. Bob

Dr. Bob, Yes, they use longer screws to secure the pedals. My tech gave me all the screws in a little box so I won't lose 'em. And obviously he also gave me the bottom panels to each of these pedals in case I ever wanted to remove the pedals from the board(don't see it happening) and return to original state (for example in case I wanted to sell one).
Anyway, per your requests, a shot of under the hood. The power supply is situated underneath between the tuner and the overdrive. Then notice a cable running out of the delay(last in the chain, far right in photo) to an output jack just above the power supply. Very clean setup, top and bottom.

Nice! I thought it would all be cables and stuff down there, it's a good job no doubt. I'm not exactly in a stage to decide which of my pedals are the definitive setup, but I think my sound would definitively need the Tube Screamer (have it), a tuner (don't) and a digital delay (which I think I've just won on ebay!! whoa!). Quite simple*, that's why I like your setup.
*simple not meaning 'cheap'... Love that analog delay, man... |
