I was reading through the descriptions here on bossarea.com and was looking at the DD-3 one which mentions that there is a newer version of the DD-3 which uses a DSP chip known as the DD-3A, which got my curious as to which one I had (I bought mine at a pawn shop almost 2 years ago where it had been sitting for quite a while. So i opened it up and immediately noticed the DSP chip and looked closer, but was surprised when it said DD-3B on my circuit board. Just thought I'd bring this to your attention, thanks. By the way I never thought the DD-3 (the one I have) sounded very good, maybe the older ones sound better.

On which side of the circuit board is the delay chip located? The first DD-3(A) had a square chip soldered to the back of the board, touching the bottom plate through a square cutout in the plastic sheet that goes between the pcb and bottom plate. Somewhere down the line, the adapter jack was relocated to the main circuit board (poking out through a square "hole" in the box).

The latest generation DD-3 has the delay chip back on the component side of the circuit board, as well as the new style adapter jack.
