Hi guys,
Is there too many diferences between the CE-2 and the CE-3? I mean, is the CE-3 too much inferior?
I'm still searching for my PH-1r. Thank you all for the tips!

Hi Gabriel,
Yeah, heaps!
Check out for some more info: http://www.bossarea.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2554&whichpage=2
Basically, the CE-2's the warm organic lush sounding chorus. The CE-3's a stereo chorus and much more subtle. The CE-3 (like the CE-2) is also available in MIT and MIJ versions. |

I've always heard the CE-3 was the chorus used by Robert Smith of The Cure.
I've never had the pleasure to try a CE-3 (they're semi-rare, see way less than the CE-2) but IMO the CE-2 is not the grail it's often made out to be. Kinda boring, kinda ho-hum tone, not a lot of control over the speed and depth. At the cost you sometimes see them selling for (I've seen as high as US$150) you might as well upgrade to the DC-2 if you can find one. The CE-3 sells for peanuts by comparison. |

| i think the CE-2 is a one trick pony but it does that trick very well. i would have liked way more control over the rate and depth parameters. it does feel like there's no such thing as settings on the pedal as it all sounds more or less the same!! |

| The CE2 is not stereo, and IMO it's really a big disadvantage, because it's when I use my CE1 or my CE3 stereo that I really enjoy the richest tones... |

unlike other modulation pedals where the earlier one is leaugues better, i just dont know in this case. the CE-3 is awesome just like the CE-2 and is a little more versatile with stereo outs and the wet/dry options.
its a toss up :) |

I agree, it does it superbly - well my SS version does anyway. I like it better than my Green Label one too. I seem to get a lot of control - especially the Rate, alters a lot. The depth is much more subtle though, I'd have to agree with that.
My CE-3 is also nice, much more versatile and love the stereo with two amps.
But, IMO, it doesn't come close to the CE-2 for a rich sound. For me, it's like comparing a DM-2 to a DD-3 - the newer pedal having a much more metallic sound.
Just my $0.02 |

| I like the CE-3 better because of the stereo option. Chorus sounds much better in stereo. |

I had high hopes for the CE-2 but after further review I must say that the CE-3 is tops in my book...
Maybe I just have a faulty CE-2...

Never played a CE-2, I own a CE-3 and I like it a lot. I use it for clean chords as a subtle effect. CE-3 is great bargain.
I a going to get CE-2 oneof these days.......just to check it out |

I really like both pedals but then again I'm a sucker for Chorus!!!
I like the CE-2 for its really warm sounding chorus but I also like the CE-3 for the stereo effect and the chorus is still pretty good (but maybe not quite as good as the CE-2 but there's not much between them to my ears).
I think CE-3s are going cheaper on ebay than CE-2s and that might make a difference if you are looking to get one.
Cheers
