First, let me apologise for the rather long-winded post...
I recently purchased a DD-20 giga delay, and am pleased as punch with the functionality of it, i.e. the ability to store and step through presets and all the different modes - It is now a permanent resident on my pedalboard, which has 9 units (mainly Boss compacts)...
However, I want to get a Boss compact delay pedal to go in my BCB-3 "mini-board" which I use for low-key rehearsals and jam nights (nobody likes to see a pedalgeek with a board the size of a small power station at a jam night ). I find the tap tempo facility to be crucial to my playing, and would ideally buy a DD-5, but have had little luck finding one second-hand and I understand they are discontinued.
I realise that the DD-6 is the newer version, but have had mixed reports from users regarding the useability of the tap-tempo function (i.e. hold down and wait a bit - not ideal in a live situation e.g. midsong while playing).
Are there any DD-6 users on Bossarea who could give me their opinions on the useability of this unit's tap tempo, or should I just keep hunting for a reasonably priced DD-5?

| one thing ive learned about pedals is that you shouldnt "settle" unless you have to. if you need it right away for a show then do it, but if you only need it for jamming, i would personally wait until i found a DD5 for a reasonable price.. i got mine pretty cheap off ebay.. |
