i should start by saying that i work as a tinsmith, and to get cuts on my hands is no surprise. however, three days ago, i got a massive, very deep cut on my right hand where the thumb meets the hand. right in that fleshy part with all the loose skin. but as MY luck would have it, im a lefty and need this right hand to hold the neck of the guitar. i havent played in three days.
so as all of you "healthy players" plug in tonight and have a great, musical time, i just want you to know one thing... i HATE YOU! |

ya, shit happens. its just that its in a bad spot, and will probably take a long time to heal. every time i do something (open a door, pick up a phone, look at it) it opens up again.
maybe ill just go put my pedals in order by color. |

sorry to hear about the accident bro... i work in construction(im a pipefitter) so i know where your coming from with the cuts issue, its very hard to wear gloves all the time...but the worst accident i had was playing waterpolo years ago,a guy tackled me when i had the ball and the side of his hand wedged between my middle fingers of my left hand and split the web of skin between them, the force of the tackle left some tendon damage it took me nearly 18 months to get back on track with the guitar playing.....im a southpaw too but i play the guitar right handed...my first guitar teacher was to lazy to change the strings around...!! although when i was growing up people were very superstitious of left handers.... in ireland were called 'ciotog'its gaelic for 'strange' or 'awkward' i was 'encouraged' to use my right hand as much as possible, steel rulers get sore especially when teachers keep hitting you with them across the knuckles..!! ..anyway sorry about the rant.... hope your back annoying the neighbours soon..... |

good story franzoni. im actually healing up quicker than i thought. should be rocking in no time. my uncle told me the same thing. he "used to" be a lefty. until he made it to grade 1 and they MADE him learn with his right hand. |

Hey StratoSphere, sorry to hear about your hand. Hope you get well soon.
I guess this might be a good time to start trying some new open stringing tunings so you don't need your right hand too much!
