| Its kinda hard to price pedals. as a person that buys and sells alot of pedals for extra income.what one person is willing to pay for a pedal one other person is not. I usually go buy the pricing of what items sell for on a ebay auction as more of a pricing guide. not the buy it now price |

Wel you could easily make a little extra table with fractions relating price and condition so mint would be 1 and moderate could be 0.5 this way people could easily create a fair price for themselves.
What might be good is to create a search or calculate page where the user enters the type condition and special features. This would then be looked up in the table. This will remove the hassle of making prices for every pedal but by using factors instead. with This setup you could also run different currencies through the calculations. Might take quiet some time in the first place but save on the long run.
Im more than willing to help with developing such a system. Im not trying to saddle bossarea up with more work I just realy think this is a great idea and we should make the best of it.

NO.
these sites are only good for sellers and people like us (addicts that feel guilty about their purchase but then feel better when they see that other people are as stupid to pay so much money for a pedal)
I don't see why this list would be good for newcomers..
if they want a pedal they can buy it at the price it's going for
if they don't think it's worth it fine.... but this price list would maybe tell the differently which is not cool imho

on the complete other hand it takes the fun out of hunting.... and let's be honest jack the prices up even higher when sellers think... wow .... let's take the highest price it ever went for and put it on my pedals.

Yeah, I tend to agree with Mully. We know lots of eBay sellers copy the descriptions form here already. If we put upa price, it may well "set" the price for gear, rather than let market forces do their job...
I think a sticky thread where people can ask "what did you recently pay for X pedal" would be useful. Just not a published list.

Yeah, but on the other hand, with silent adjustment here and there, we could use it to dump prices. No, kidding. There is no way to make it not turn against us.
But thumbs up for a separate thread. And maybe collecting the data time to time and putting it into the collector's list but certainly not putting it outside the forum would be cool too. |

| Over here in the UK we have 3 or 4 ebay dealers completely dominating and skewing the market; some information letting people know what a ripoff they are might be quite useful. |

I do like the idea of having a price guide, I evn started my own database a while back of prices Boss pedals actually sold for on eBay (I don't have it anymore - it was too much work to maintain).
Unfortunately, Mully and Laurie do make excellent points... We wouldn't want to help fuel those ridiculous prices you seem to see too often on eBay... |
