G'day! I like to read the threads in my breaks at work.
My workplace has fairly strict rules about what can (and can not) be viewed on their machines... any instance of pulling up a web site containing the "F-word" triggers the censor software.
It would be really cool if that didn't happen (it is happening more lately).
Thanks for listening! Laurie.

Hi Guys
This post is not aimed at anyone specifically, it's a general request, to keep our forum-site, what we have all strived, & worked so very hard, to make it the place that it is today. And to keep it that way.
I was just about to post a polite request to use your self discretion, requesting that you don't use profanity & explicative's on the forum.
As well as not posting or linking to any inappropriate, or viral material from other sites & the web in general.
Myself & many other members, some whom have written to me in private emails. Have noticed that it has been on the rise for a while now.
We all need to keep in mind that we have women & young teens/adults, as well as Industry Related members, & other high profile visitors to our forum - regularly.
I/we do understand the use/slip of an explicative when telling us about the latest pedal, bargain or gear buy-find. (To those we generally turn a blind eye, we understand your excitement as well)
I am going to move this into "Forum Announcements" and make it a "Sticky" topic.
Thanks for understanding.
Regards Dr. Bob - Moderator |

I agree. And I have to admit I've been guilty of slipping up. This is a great site with many opinions and I always liked that it's just good clean fun! BTW at my job they never filtered content, but got miffed at all the Internet surfing. So I got an iphone, and I don't have any limitations on Internet access. In fact I'm shootin' sparks, makin' smoke, and metal chips are flyin' as I post this!!! |

Yo Kelly, I also machine metal. I run a Fadal 6535 CNC machining center. PRS and Martin Guitars use similar to cut their bodies and necks. If something is broken I'll weld it. The nice thing about running a CNC mill is that after I get my parts ready for the next operation in the shop, I've got some time before the machining is done. That's when I post! |
