First you need a high-powered, high-dollar tube amp and designer guitar.

The gear that those guys have is insane.

A Gibson SG might help.

A guy here at work was saying that they use SG's or Les Paul's into something class A - AC30's or Matchless.

It'll cost at least $1000 U.S for the SG or Les Paul, and Another $1500 for a AC30. For a Matchless it would be about $3000. so all together it would be about $2500-$4000. Hell save your self some money and buy A DS-1, and a BD-2. Use the DS-1 as your distortion, and use the BD-2 as a booster. By the way what type of music do they play? Is it emo, punk, rock, pop? I don't really listen to the radio much.

I think they were actually using Paul Reed Smith guitars live and they had a lot of Line 6 stuff too if I recall.
