it will work. but to the downside the boss ge-7 for guitar works in the higher freq. range, it will not work on the lower octive. but it will work at the 12th fret or upper octive.cause in that are that is the reange of freq. that the pedal was desigined for

It might not be too bad... I've used mine with my bass with OK results.

Don't forget, the guitar and bass models are only 1 octave apart which should work fine with all midrange frequencies on both instruments. As long as you're not trying to boost sublows with a GE-7 on bass, or superhigh treble frequencies on guitar with a GE-7b, then it should work just fine either way.
The newer model GEB-7 has a huge gaps between 800hz and 4.5k and between 4.5k and 10k, whereas the old model GE-7b has it's bands in octaves apart one octave lower than the GE-7 which I find a little more usefull. In the end it's what works best for you and your individual sound. Oh btw, don't let people scare you by saying that you'll damage any gear that was originally designed for guitar when used with a bass. Just be carefull with speakers, but still then it could take years before you blow 'em skyhigh.
