Hi Guys I was looking for some opinions on the RV-2 Like it's Tone and especially the estimated Evilbay asking prices-worth.
I have heard a lot about how good the RV-3 is, but no-one has mentioned the RV-2...
Any comments welcome. Regards Dr. Bob |

Dr.,
I have owned both pedals in the last year and I have to say I prefer the Rv-3. I think it is the pick of the Reverb litter.
Though the Rv-3 is a little more stale and digital the Rv-2 has less range. It probably sounds a little better but it has less Reverb options. IOW, the parametres are less.
I would shoot for the 3.

| i constantly use the RV-2. its one of those pedals that are always on. it has a crazy current draw though like 120mA or something? i use Mode 4 which is plate reverb if i recall correctly. i got mine about a year ago for $99 shipped off ebay but i think you can find them for 100-130 on ebay. |

Thanks Guys
I read that it's the only Boss Compact that does not come in the standard box. As it ships with the PSA adapter, because of how much current it draws.
Do any of you have the box for the RV-2? Maybe you could post a pic of it.
Regards Dr. Bob

I have all Boss pedal reverbs and I like RV-2 the most, the sound of the reverb is just what I like to have for guitar. But mostly I use the Micro rack RRV-10, this is an amazing little box, and, it sounds very very similar to RV-2. I think someone mentioned its the same circuit in both. There are a little more possibilities in the rack, sure, but the sound/tone of the reverb is about the same. But both RV-3 and RV-5 are good enough for me, but RV-2 is just right on the spot.

My RV-2 has stayed on my pedal board for at least 6 months now. There's one of the plate reverb settings that I think is really awesome.
I got to admit I haven't sepent a lot of time with the RV-3. It's got a lot of modes so maybe it can create the same sound as the RV-2 but I like the simpler knob layout of the RV-2. |

Hmm some good points about RV pedal. I'm still looking around for a RV but not sure which one to get.
Thanks everyone! |
