Can you class the EH 2 as an effect or a tool.It does not add a new dimension to your sound but enhances what you already have.does the same apply to the CS,SP and GE?

In some British colonies, a Tool is also the term for a stupid person.

Thanks for cheering me up (Dr. pedals 4 pv the smile doctor).

I've called a few people that

The EH2 is both, depending on how you define tool and effect.
The box says its a effect processor.

Funny story, I glanced at the EH-2 box upside down one day. Instead of reading EH-2, each letter seperatly. I read 'eh 2'
Like in Julius Caesar, 'Eh tu Brute'

To me, little boxes that you plug into which affect, or have an effect, on your sound are all effects, and to me, effects are tools that help one sculpt their sound. So its both.

i say its definately an effect because it does SOMETHING to your sound. pedals like the LS-2 or TU-2 i call tools because they do nothing to your sound..

Back to the original topic..

I think EH-2 does very much to your sound, its one of the most useful Boss pedals. No big fanfares or anything that changes your sound completely, but EH-2 makes your sound sounding a bit better, if that makes sense.
It makes your clean sound a little less muddy more brilliant, and it does the same to a distorted sound.
Many use it for cleaning up after a long run of pedals, and EH-2 is great for that, but I like it alone too. Maybe together with an overdrive.
This is a great pedal, a future classic. I wouldnt be surprised if it skyrocket in value in a couple of years, so grab one if you find one. They are not rare but not as common as most other Boss pedals.

Hi Christo
I know a lot of people give the Behringer stuff a real bagging.
But what is their SP-1 Clone really like?
Have you been able to compare it to someones Boss SP-1?

I noticed that their Time Machine pedal,
was cosmetically and mechanically a Clone of the Line 6 ToneCore delay.
