So, I needed an A-B-Y pedal.
Rather than do the sensible thing and go to the store and buy one for $40........ I decided to make one. Don't try this at home unless you have a couple of hours spare to blow on it!

| Not sure how the effect is done... The box comes pre-finished - it is a standard "Hammond" box. |

Hey Laurie NICE!
I see you even added 1M resistors to GND on on the jacks, to stop possible popping when switching between the settings?
I'll have to do that on the one I bought a few weeks back. It wasn't as good/smart as your one, in that respect. I see you used really good quality switches too.
Being all passive, have you tested it in Y-A-B mode?
Regards Dr. Bob

Nice Job - Not seen any Hammond boxes with that finish in the UK.
Heres my dual looper / bypass I've just finished.
Do you hear an audible difference without the 1Megs across the jacks?

Nope. No room in the size box I wanted to use. |

i am continaully impressed by your build quality SM. This one is awesome as usual!
Seeing your builds is really goosing me to get motivated to get some screen printing going
The 1M5 resistors are there to put a load on the unused output - to give a path to ground so that the input tube grid isn't "waving in the breeze". No real difference in sound for the active channel, but the inactive channel has a little less hum than if the resistors aren't there.

Hi Laurie I meant in reverse. Two signals In, & one signal out. eg. two guitars into one amp - or two guitars into an effects board.
I know most people normally use an AB/Y box, the other way around.

Oh! no, I haven't tried. I probably wouldn't normally do that - two sources driving into each other might be bad? |

Those are really quality looking boxes guys...
Laurie ..i've read posts where some people use them as Dr Bob suggested not at the same time but for a quick changeover during a gig..i.e at the start of a pedalboard to switch between a acoustic and a electric etc....
Scarymonsta... i assume you can you toggle between the loops..?

| Yes... it would be fine if only used in A-B mode, without the "Y". |

Great looking build! The powder-coated hammonds can be bought in the UK from Farnell - Quite pricey, though. I put my Coloursound One Knob Fuzz in a black powder coated one (it's a 1590A size, i.e. tiny):

Thanks Laurie ! I always want the custom builds I do for people to look as good as I can.
The screen printing kit gives much better results than I had ever hoped for, easy to use too.
I have the resistor shunts in mine too, but didn't notice much difference with my set-up with or without them. Very much dependent on the load before and after the box.
Yes Franzoni, the loop switch just toggles between loop 01 or 02, and the bypass sends the signal uneffected to the output.
I'll have to put my specs on and peruse the Farnell catalogue again - I guess the detail of the finish doesn't stand out in the pictures - might have to get couple, I really like the finish.
