Why is it that we sell the things we'll want most later on? I know I can buy another one on you-know-where, but it's not the same, is it?
I wish I still had my: - Original, unmarked, mint, Alesis Quadraverb GT - first guitar (a Teisco Blonde Strat copy)

One of the first '62 jap reissue strats sold it for 350..... and one of the biggest mistakes was not buying my mates '57 sunburst reissue from the same time...although in fairness he didn't tell me as he thought as i was selling my one i wouldn't want his.... i was getting more into maple necks(which his was... ) at that time and i also wanted a tele thats why i sold the strat...... |

Must be my strat, I traded it for a new gran. No, wait, I still got my strat.
Must be the OD-1 I sold 1982 then. |

In actuality, I've only had a Harmony Flying V guitar & my Peavey Studio Pro 40W amp from 1983-1999. Really it was after 2002 when I started buying Boss pedals. But most of my gear was purchased in the last 17 months.
That garage pic is hilarious btw. |

| I haven't sold much of my gear because I am a packrat as well, but I guess it'd be nice to have a couple of the pedals I sold when I was younger. Nothing majorly regretful though, just a DOD BiFet Preamp, DOD Octave, and an Arion Stereo Chorus.... |

1961 Gibson ES-175. It may have been a single pickup model but it was a single PAF pickup! Plus it was in excellent shape(this was in the late 1980s). Plus, as if that were not enough, it had an awesome wide flat neck and stayed in tune as well as any guitar I've had with the exception of a 1968 Gibson Byrdland and a 1968 Gretsch Country Gentleman.
One more time... |

About a year and a half ago I started divesting myself of guitar stuff because I was barely playing. While I kept the guitars and amps, all the pedals had to go.
I sold a CE-2 made in Japan green label to a friend for about $50 and let my RV-3 got for $80
The friend has since given the CE-2 back to me for nothing
While I never really like the sound of the RV-3, I wish I hadn't sold it, or at the very least had sold it for more. It kills me to see what they're selling for on eBay!
The irony in all of this is that in reaching out to find people to unload my stuff, I've hooked up with people for a regular weekly jam session. I've probably spent over $2,000 on new equipment over the last year and a half! |
