That HF-2 is a great pedal. Thx again DrBob for recommending it. The delay speed is half of the bf-2. Being 6.5-13ms hard to get into the chorus range that starts at 13ms
I'm on vacation right now, and picked up a DC-3 Dimension Chorus from Songbird in Toronto. Won't be able to try it til I get to Edmonton next week. Also suppose to be meeting someone to buy a rv-3 digital reverb tomorrow. At least the FT-2 I brought wont be loney

I got an FT-2 a couple of weeks back: Superb pedal > mini-review follows >>>
Back story: I love the funk (Stevie, Herbie, Sly, Meters, JB+JBs, Blackbyrds, Chic etc etc) but i don't have the co-ordination to do anything more than rock a standard wah on the beat - something that has been done to death. I'd always been wary of auto-wah/filters due to the rather limited range of sounds many of the "standard" units produce (things like the Mutron III or Lovetone Meatball are maybe the exception, but very expensive), but i caved in and got a T-Wah a few months back.
This didn't really do it for me - It seemed fairly fiddly to find the sweet spot where your playing dynamics trigger the filter effectively, and the tone sweep was either very severe or barely noticeable, with very little in between.
To cut a long story short, I got the FT-2 and have been so impressed I sold the TW-1 on the spot! (i'm not a collector, just a player with a taste for Boss). It does everything the TW-1 did, but with a much more useable down sweep and the ability to set the frequency and amount of peak exactly: It's still not as flexible as i'd ideally want, but the three main controls interact very nicely and intuitively, and most important, it seems wherever the controls are set, a useable sound can be found.
The exp pedal is a nice bonus: I still don't have the ability to match hands and feet to rival Hendrix but it means i CAN slowly sweep the filter around, and it has a much more useful sound + tweakability than any other standard wah i've tried.
I have to admit i've never tried the AW-2/3, but from the description I'm pretty sure that they are not something i'd even want to try. Please enlighten me if you have had a positive experience with these pedals.

Just scored a brandnew SD-1 on Ebay for about 40 euros incl. shipping. That's ridiculous considering the fact that these pedals run new in Holland (without shipping off course) for 60-65 euros. Nice pedal though, it really does emulate an old style low gain tube amp. Makes you wanna play Mama Kin, train kept a rollin and other old Aerosmith songs, rock n roll Off course it also makes for a nice overdrive pedal if you use it in front of an already distorted amp. So far I like it better then the DS-1, it also seems to eat a little less lows and sounds pretty decent on bass guitar too. I'll probably end up modding it so it doesn't suck low end at all. For now I haven't been happier with a distortion pedal ever. |

nice grab, Christo. CE-2s are nice.
well aside from getting the over 200 dollar pedals, im still short a few boxes as well. i think for most of em im gonna have to rebuy the pedal with box, keep the box and flip the pedal. well theres only 2 semi tricky boxes i need right now.. DF-2 and PH-1r. the rest are all commons and i can get them pretty much any time. (HM-2, HM-3, OS-2 etc.)

Thought my GAS was cured, until a OD-2 came up locally for $50 its officially my worst looking pedal with paint chips The CE-2 beats the snot outta the DC-3. The CE-2 is nice and lush compare to the DC-3. It does sorta colour your tone, but in a good way. Altho the DC-3 is really a cool pedal.
I came up with a 3 pedal combo, i call it '3D Digital Threat' DC-3->DD-3->RV-3 |

| I picked up an XT-2 again for $50 and I gotta say it's not half as bad as I remembered. Actually, it's quite good - I prefer it to a mij DS-1 which is the only other Boss dirt I have. Still more trebly than I'd like, but on the upside this means it's still clear bright and crunchy even when the guitar volume is rolled right back (when many ODs muddy up ). It also works great as a "treble booster" in front of another overdrive pedal. |
