Hi Guys I have just become the proud owner, of an XT-2, with Box & manual.
It quickly became apparent to me, that the marketing Department really didn't do this pedal any justice. (Basically they cocked it up big time).
I played with this for a while, on lower drive settings, & it was fabulous. Although I'm still trying to come to terms with all the interaction of the controls.
On low drive settings, this pedal, i, one of th nicest distortion pedals I have played in a very long time. It does classic rock & overdrive, & creamy smooth lead. And is incredibly touch responsive.
Don't believe me set it low, & play with only your fingers. Play soft - then dig in a bit, then some more.
I thought it really deserved it's own thread.
I would appreciate any comments & settings, you guys may have for this tone monster.
Goran - you really need to get one of these.
It may even be a sleeper pedal...
Regards Dr. Bob |

Dr Bob!
I have XT-2 and also have a love/hate relationship to it. I always liked the full tilt sound of it, but I have never experienced the low gain stuff, this pedal is not supposed to do this good, Xstortion

| I like to try my xt-2 in a loud band situation. I think however the xt-2 is a pedal where you build your 'bandsound' around the xt-2. |

Hi Dr.Bob!
Fun! Congrats! I bought mine last summer, new in box - but throw the box away. Bought it together with PW-2 in same store, both new, both with boxes and manuals. Didnt know that the box was that imortant though... Have not tryed the XT-2 in a band situation yet, but have been thinking about it for a while cause it can produce a "open wah" sound. Not that useful all the time though, but a nice gem when it fits. Not sure about put it in my pedalboard for that same reason. Must try to play with my fingers at low gain setting when i come home. |

| The PW-2 is a GREAT pedal. It totally fills the gap between my OD-3, BD-2, & MT-2. Nothing else comes close to its lower-end. |

oh man this is awesome...i've been finding excuses to just type XT-2 in random places on this board...i love it that much...and right on Dr. Bob the low gain settings are great...
if you want to try something different try maxing the first two knobs and totally minimizing the last two knobs...it's interesting...and of course with reverb/delay this thing is just amazing...but maybe i'm just biased... |

Dr. Bob,
I've always been intrigued by the XT-2. On the BossArea, one sample setting is described as giving a ". . . great British-style rhythm sound. . . (Level 5, Countour 6, Punch 3, Dist 4)"
Can you, perhaps, confirm this? And by British-style, do they mean AC30? I love the AC30 model on my Cube 30 and would love to have a stomp box that can get me part of the way there. Might the XT-2 be that box?
Thanks
PS I'm creeping up on bronze member, slowly but surely! |

It is the one of a few compactpedals that can give you a convincing Vox sound [read British sound] not many pedals will give you that sound. The orginal Sansamp can do this too, but is more expansive and you would expect this from an emulating pedal. The XT-2 is one where you need to experiment with, but let's face it, this should be relatively easy, just dial in different sounds, get inspired accordingly and play with what sound you have found.
People did mention the PW-2, perhaps a similar one, but less versatile and one which needs even greater caution and care. |

Hi Heart and Soul & guys
Thanks to the above setting you posted, I managed to find this one. It's really great for open Chord & rhythm work.
Level - max Contour 1 oclock Punch - min Dist - min
Try adding just a slightest touch of DIST. For slightly more mids, turn the Contour back to 11 o'clock. I used this on my 52RI Tele, neck p/up tone at 70-80%
It's like a Spectral Enhancer-booster (WELL! it is red ) with BITE. Guaranteed. It will cut through the hardest live band mix.
You won't really expect the sound that you get.
Although "Heart and Soul" will probably have some idea.

I have now tested XT-2 with low drive settings, and yes it sounds very good. It took some time get used to the tone controls. When I was on it I of course maxed the drive too, I liked that sound also. Im very interested in heavy distortion sounds, I like the way the tone get bended by different pedals. In conclusion; XT-2 is a very unique pedal and not bad in any way, just different to what we are used to.
