Just managed to finally pick up an RC-2 as part of a deal. Serial is BV71689 which decodes to April 2007.

BUT... that model wasn't released until 2008. Any ideas?

I have #ZV04543 which I bought straight from Sweetwater as soon as they hit the streets, from the 1st batch of 20 so I heard. My receipt is dated 11/02/06. The decoder says Sep 2006. I'm just giving you my info in hopes it'll help in some way.

Bossarea's decoder must use algorithm at http://members.cox.net/praisetek/ as I get the same results there.

The RC-2 was sold from July 2006 to present.

I may have been the 1st in my state to get one.. I had feelers & deposit monies up & down the coast! heh

The earliest I heard them hitting US soil was in July but they were in the hands of GearWire etc. Then the public started touching them in Sep

Yes it does. The praisetek page is forum member phostenix's page. He originally cracked the 2+5 serial number encoding scheme and published the results here on the forum.
