Thought I'd share my latest exploit. Refinishing a 1960B cab i bought cheap because it was in bad shape cosmetically (it works 100%).

Man what did they do to the handles ? They had to use big bolts to put 'm on again. I guess it's rock 'n roll

That's a fantastic fix! Mine isn't near half as bad mechanically. |

Nice find Laurie, those cabs are like the heart and soul of Rock & Roll. How old is this one, it looks like a JCM 900 model judging of the backplate. What speakers are in it? Vintage 30's would be a sweet deal. |

I wish they were Vintaghe 30's... They are GT12-70's
The manufacturing date is on the serial sticker - can't recall offhand, but i'm pretty sure it's early 2000's. Will check tonight.
Tone is great |

Stripped, sanded, and all rivet holes doweled. Date is 1998.

Doweled the huge holes that had been gouged for the handle screws, and glued spruce "strengtheners" on the inside to ensure the new screws have something to bite into.

Hi Laurie
Nice workmanship. You must have sniffed a truck load of contact adhesive fumes.
Nice Snake skin too.

Yeah, cause that snakeskin is ermm....different from what one'd normally expect to see on a Marshall cab
Keep up the good work Laurie. |

.....nice job with the tolex BTW..... will we see a matching head to go with it...?.... i played in a band once with a bass player who stripped all the tolex off his marshall halfstack and sanded/varnished the wood....looked really cool.... |
