I am new here but have been lurking around reading posts and learning alot.
So when I get home (on a military deployment) I plan on building my own board,
getting tired of cables and loose gear.
I am wondering if my pedal progression is correct, input starting right and going left.
If anyone has any tips or ideas please let let loose, anything would be appreciated. Thanks....

I would put the PH-3 after the DS-1 or the CH-1. I like to run modulation FX after OD/distortion FX. Otherwise, the board looks great.

I would use like this:
Guitar-CS3-DS1-PH3-CH1-DD3-RV5-
or if you like PHASER style Van Halen:
Guitar-CS3-PH3-DS1-CH1-DD3-RV5-
or-DD3-CH1-RV5-
You can put the tuner in DIRECT OUT of his DD3.
the best would be you to put the tuner in first.
welcome to the family...

Welcome to the forum from ireland..looks pretty good to me except if you want to use the Mesa's drive channels the phaser, chorus, delay and reveb would be better in the amps effects loop with the DS-1 and the CS-3 going in the front end of the amp..the tuner output on the mesa could feed the TU-12...thats a very impresive board that comes with the Mesa.... it would make things extremely simple on stage with the loop on/off,tuner mute and boost buttons not to mention the 4 channels you have to choose from....might be worth making a seperate mini board for the drive/gain pedals..i think from looking at the the pics of his rig is the way satriani does it..or did when he still used boss pedals...

Yeah I thought about running some of the effects through the loop on the amp, I tried it once and it didn't sound right. Not sure if it was the pedal progression that I had or what. Probably the only issue I have with the amp is that it can do so much, and when I get back I have to relearn each channel all over again!

Yeah that amp is a monster, I looked at many amps before I bought the Roadster but once I played through it I was hooked, well worth the $$ I paid for it!

Guitar into the CS and DS then into the amp
Everything else in the amp's effects loop.

Welcome to the forum!

+1 on the Roadster!

+1 to PaulH. I like that setup.

edit: make sure you like the sound of those 4 fx through the Boogie loop - I believe it's parallel and you always have at least 10% dry sound hitting your power amp..

If it is parallel there are a few "tricks"

For instance the CH1 has a wet/dry stereo output.
Connect a patch lead going nowhere from the dry output... that way only the "wet" part is in the parallel loop.

The DD3 might be able to do the same.

I could be wrong but i don't think the CH-1 works like that...i think it modulates it's stereo effect through both stereo jacks not like some of the CE series boss chorus pedals....

on my line 6 pod xt pro, line 6 recommend that for chorus type effects(i use a rackmount leslie sim in stereo the loop) you run the loop series as parallel can cause phase issues.... something to do with the nature of modulation type effects and the way the effect is created..ie already in parallel.....

Mesa man....try runing your mod/delay effects in series in your amps loop to see if they work any better(set the send and return levels to full on) if you could get it right you would have a huge range of tones and flexibility at your feet.....

From one Roadster owner to another.. welcome to the club!

I agree with Franzoni.

"phaser, chorus, delay and reveb would be better in the amps effects loop with the DS-1 and the CS-3 going in the front end of the amp..the tuner output on the mesa could feed the TU-12"

The CE5 works that way (wet/dry).
I assumed the CH1 works the same way.

Right now I am using Monster "Rock" cables, they seem to be holding up better than most cables I used to play with. As far as power supplies go I have to admit that I use a 1spot for now, I was looking for a PS and was on a limited budget. Although I will say that it has held up well with no noise, when I build my board I plan on installing a DC Brick or equivalent.
