Have a look at this, and keep in mind what you know about the boxes and the labels, then look at my questions:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7361390147&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
What do we know about those boxes?? They were made in the late 80s and early 90s so presuming this is a Jap, the label should have been green. No hard work here, just look at the homepage.
If the seller would have made sure all screws were in place I would not have been allerted, but now the seller almost says something like: "Look, I have changed this backplate, just to let you know this is a blacklabel Jap. pedal, but really I believe you pedalbuyers will not notice" Great Mr. Seller for allerting us, I feel sorry for whoever gets this pedal, okay perhaps it is all fine and I am just overly worried and do not want to spend my money on something I am not really sure about.
Wish you could sent funny messages to sellers like those folks, well of course you can but they will not get back to you so............... |

I've never seen a black label CE-3 before but I've never seen a MIT CE-3 with all black knobs either. Hmmm, something smells... |

| Yep, really strange about those screws, guess people must be that busy that they are not all that bothered about what they are selling. Some of the folks buying may have same kind of mentality: Just get it fairly cheap and sell it on, however in this case the CE-3 went for the going rate, a lot of them end up selling for that price, some a little less when they do not have the condition and looks, some a little more when they have that overruling Made in Japan on the backplate. |
