Hi, evreyone!

I have recently aquired a Boss CE-1 but it has an american plug and is 117v. Can I just change the plug and it will work fine or must I adapt it somehow?

Thanks for reading.

Regards Patrick

I guess you have 230 Volts or something in the UK so you need an step up transformer 117 Volts to 230 Volts, as it is not a lot of current (like in a tube amp) I think it will not be an expensive one.
Oh, welcome to the forum!

Sorry I got upside down here; you need a step down transformer which makes 117 V from 230 V

To much work today…..

Hi Patrick

Welcome to the forum from Australia.

I see some of the boys have your problem sorted out already.
There are many people that make small ready to go step down transformers.
Because the CE-1 does not draw very much current.
Look for one that's looks like a medium sized plug pack,
with the 2 pin socket, already mounted to the case.

Unless of course you are thinking of powering other more current
hungry gear like power amps.

I have one of these types of units on my Lab Bench,
for quickly testing low current gear.

And a larger 10 Amp (home built - really heavy mother) for much BIGGER stuff.
And or, for when we have visitors from Canada/USA, & their wives/GF's,
need to use their hair dryers & other such 110-120VAC items.

BTW - I nearly forgot to say Congratulations on getting the CE-1.

Regards Dr. Bob

Hi, all!

WOW what a good responce.

Thank you all for your usefull and kind remarks. You are correct Dr. BOB I run Surrey Music Effects on Ebay where I sell a lot of rare and oldish Boss Pedals. Unfortunately I will be keeping the CE-1 in my collection and a friend of mine who has a recording studio will be borrowing from time to time.

If anyone is interested in any of my pedals on ebay please let me know and we can arrange and ebayless transaction so you can have a discount.

Also, if you are looking for a specific pedal I will do my best to find one for you.

Thanks once again to you all for a very warm reception.

Regards Patrick
