With my apologies to the forum for going on and on about it (but it fixes exactly this problem)... I'm using this for my Phase 90 on my board at the moment: http://members.shaw.ca/lauriepedals/LM10

OD-3 (or maybe that should be an OD-1) with enhanced tone controls, maybe four knobs, drive, level, concentric centre detent high and low cut or boost (a bit like the CE-5 but not just cut), concentric parametric mid range cut or boost with one ring for frequency and the other doing the cut or boost. Basically a compact OD pedal with the ability to shape the tone a lot more and not just to cut the high frequencies.
Reissue PH-1 or 1r with effect level - i.e. blend control (yes your box looks great Laurie but a simple compact solution would be neater)

Totally fair point. I have a EHX Small Stone that drops my volume, and annoys me quite a bit. But I still love the pedal... |

Hey man, I love my Smallstone aswell. It's such a great pedal. Which version do you have? I have a Russian Mk3 which I haven't noticed any volume drop with. Maybe a resistor value change here and there will fix your problem? |

I have a Russian Small Stone too and it definitelty drops volume - maybe 6dB. Definitaly faulty. I see at least one burned resistor, but haven't had a chance to get it onto the test bench yet. |

There is indeed a fairly easy mod for this -

Is just one of many links that show how to do it.

Smallstones rock - The Sovtek Green Tank is the only phaser i've held on to (it's now 10/12 years old). I would also reccomend trying the "Univibe" mod, works really well.
All this Smallstone love sort of goes against the grain of this thread, cos I think Smallstone's are very useful and pretty versatile considering they only have a rate knob and a two-way colour/depth switch. I suppose for many of us, if you like the basic sound of a pedal, it doesn't need much tweaking so the lack of controls is irrelevant: If you're not essentially happy with the basic sound of a pedal, you will always desire more control over parameters... |

| My CE-1 should really have a depth and rate controls for the chorus section instead of one knob that controls overall chorus sound. |

Another one for a volume/level on the TR-2. There is a mod online somewhere that involves just snipping one resitor to fix the perceived volume drop. I havnen't done it though.
I'd like to see more parametric EQ's like on the MT-2 than tone knobs.
