Hi Guys

I thought you might be interested to see how far along, robotics & walking - climbing robots have advanced.

Cool & scary at the same time.

Climbing robot:

Walking robot:

Check out the bit where the guys tries to kick the robot over.

Defense department funded research.

The way it recovers is scarily realistic, the way it lengthens it's stride to lower it's centre of mass and stumbles to slow itself down, really impressive. However, it's so loud! I suppose we are still a long way from actual robotic companions that don't sound like lawnmowers...

Very scary, especially when you consider the fact that DARPA is funding the research. Soon enough they will be fully equipped with weaponary and remote guidance systems. In the future bomber planes will drop thousands of those little climbing things over a hostile area. They will do the advanced reconnaissance and targeting. Then the big dogs will come in with the heavy guns

Hi Guys

Here is another interesting Robotics link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIn-sMq8-Ls

Watch until the end, is sort of looses it's serious connotations.
It will leave you ROTHL
