Hey lightburst or anyone else, could you look inside your SD-2 and tell me where both wires on the bypass switch go to. I disconnected one of mine (the one that's not the yellow one) while doing a mod, and I'm not exactly sure I put it back correctly.
I finished modding my SD-2 to have an extra stomp switch that duplicates the function of having an FS-5L (or other latching footswitch) in the REMOTE jack. The problem is, on one of the new switch settings (it makes the LED green when on the REMOTE mode, I'll call this ON just for reference) the bypass switch does nothing. When I click the new switch again (makes the LED red, OFF), the bypass switch works fine. Also, when I plug something in to the REMOTE jack, neither switch works.
If anyone knows how this switching should work (SPST non-momentary to switch from lead to crunch in the REMOTE mode) and can look inside their SD-2 and give me some advice, I would very much appreciate it. |

Hi thisisacoverup Have you used a socket that insulates both of the wires from the Chassis/case earth.
Perhaps you used a normal mono socket & inadvertently created a short to chassis.
Try a fully insulated mono socket, or use a stereo socket & don't use the earth/chassis/case/ground lug. Hope this helps.

I assume that when you say socket, you're talking about a jack.
I didn't add any jacks. I just wired a new switch to the existing REMOTE jack. One to each lug that was going to the board.
I'm not too worried about keeping the REMOTE jack functional since my mod was basically to eliminate the need to use it. I just need to know how to get it to not disable the bypass switch. |

| If you mean the black wire of the switch than you can connect it anywhere to ground! In my SD-2 its wired direct to the ground lug of the input jack. |
