Hello, let me explain the title: I have a Danelectro Pepperoni phaser and I love it because it adds a little dirt to my tone when on. A little distortion. But I would like to gig with a more solidly built pedal. I've been scanning Harmony Central and other sites but have not found a definite answer yet. So I am looking for a phaser pedal that adds a little distortion to the tone, maybe boosts the signal a bit too. I don't want a pedal that sounds pristine clean, or one that exhibits a volume drop when engaged. Oh, and one more thing I like about the Dano is that it only has one knob. So - the simpler controls, the better.
Any suggestions? Thanks Tony |

You could probably get a PH series phaser and mod it to add a boost and some colour. I haven't seen any, so I would just look what components are being replaced to make it more clean, and just go in the other direction with those (i.e.: 1kohm cut out for clean, instead put in a 900ohm). Im not sure if that will work or not, so you might want to test it out on the danelectro first before you start hacking into something.
I think theres a little boost in the PH-3, but I haven't used it in a while, so im not sure. And nothing else comes to mind.
Good luck! |

Thank you. I will try to find a PH-2 or PH-1 and see if I like them. Tony |

i have the ph2 as well....a more modern type of phaser but very clean..but doesn't boost or distort your signal, there is no volume drop i've ever noticed and super solid build quality...the bf2 give a bigger boost to the guitar when it's on but again does't distort the guitar sound.... |
